Good to know

Questions runners ask.

What is the best app to find a running buddy near me?
Rund is built for exactly this. You join your neighborhood anonymously, chat with the locals, DM anyone, and when you both reveal your profiles you become running buddies and can run together — even a shared co-op loop. Everyone stays anonymous until you mutually agree to reveal.
Is there an app that turns running into a territory game?
Yes — that's Rund. While you run you draw a path; close the loop and the enclosed area becomes your territory on the neighborhood map. It's like paper.io meets Strava, played outside with real GPS.
How can I compete with my neighbors while running?
Every neighborhood in Rund has a local leaderboard ranked by how much territory you control. Run through a rival's claimed land to steal a slice, grab the most turf in your hood, and climb to the top.
Is Rund like Strava, but a game?
Rund tracks your runs with full analytics — distance, pace, time and history — like a serious run tracker, but adds a territory game and a real neighborhood social layer on top. Your stats are tied to the turf you claimed on each run.
Can I run together with someone I meet in the app?
Yes. Once you and another runner become buddies, you can start a co-op run: begin from the same spot and seal one shared loop together as a team.
How does claiming territory actually work?
Start a run and Rund traces your GPS path. When your route crosses back on itself to close a loop, the area inside becomes yours and is painted onto the neighborhood map. Bigger loops mean more turf — and you keep running through your land to keep it alive.
Do I collect anything when I run?
Yes. Every loop you close drops that neighborhood's collectible card into your Atlas of the Realm — and the more central the streets, the rarer the card. Collect a whole city's neighborhoods to unlock its milestone card. It's pure collection and status: cards are never pay-to-win and never give you an edge in the game.
What are deeds?
The first runner ever to claim a given block earns its deed — a permanent title that shows you founded that territory. Collect deeds across your neighborhood to prove you got there first.
Is my identity and location private?
Yes. You're anonymous by default — your photo stays blurred and you appear under a generated persona in neighborhood chat. You only ever reveal your real profile to someone you both choose. Precise location is used to draw your run and place you in the right neighborhood, nothing more.
Does Rund work with Apple Watch?
Yes. Rund integrates with Apple Watch and HealthKit so you can track runs from your wrist with heart rate, distance and pace. Your territory and stats sync automatically — your phone can stay in your pocket.
Which neighborhoods can I play in?
Anywhere you can run. Your territory, leaderboard and chat are scoped to your real neighborhood automatically from GPS, so the game is always local to your streets. Rund is rolling out city by city — join the waitlist and help bring it to yours.
How do I get in, and when does Rund launch?
Rund is launching soon on iPhone and Apple Watch. Join the waitlist and we'll email you the moment you can claim your first block.
